We hope that you will find this information helpful in providing a positive adjustment, from our house to yours!
Food
We recommend a predominately wet diet of 80/20 we feed kittens cooked chicken breast and mince beef raw, this is supplemented with some of the best and healthiest premium dry food, we feed Royal Canin Mother and Baby. We also supplement with probiotics and liquid calcium, to promote a good dietary system and support for bone growth. Fresh water should be available at all times and changed daily
Equipment
Scratching Post
Special glands in your cat’s paw pads release a scent during scratching, so scratching makes home smell like home! Your own home, your workplace, your parents’ home, your neighbour’s home, EVERY home has its own scent and even we humans can tell the difference from house to house.
Cats have a sense of smell that is far superior to ours! Your cat LOVES the comforting, familiar smell of his own scent throughout his home. Two purposes are served here: (1) a cat’s feelings of well-being and security are reinforced, and (2) your cat’s place in this world is fortified against intruders! Scratching is a cats natural instinct, but your baby has been trained to use these scratching pads from the time they leave their birthing box. The design we recommend would have a box on top for the kitten/cat to utilizes
Litter and Litter Tray’s
We use 2 types of litter Tofu and Pine Pellets; we fill the litter tray surface with about 25-40mm of litter. We do not recommend Crystal Litter it is sharp and could be painful to walk on, hence the kitten could find alternative places to unload. There are available a range of litter tray, we use an open tray for Tofu and a sieve tray for the pine pellets
Cat Carriers
Remember your kitten is small today but will grow into a reasonable size cat we would not recommend a size smaller than PG20.
Toys and beds
Even though your kitten spends a large part of his/her day napping, it is important to have plenty of toys and furniture for them to play and sleep on. Just as we have our favourite chair to sleep on, a cat loves to have a high place to take a snooze. Toys keep you cat/kittens stimulated and keep the playful side of your Ragdoll, ready for fun!
